At some Foot & Ankle Specialists of South Jersey locations, we offer the convenience of in-house testing and treatments, including the services below.
Diagnostics
Non-Invasive Vascular Testing
This painless study helps our medical center identify peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD is a serious circulation problem that often has few early symptoms, which is why it is sometimes called a “silent killer.” Identifying the disease early helps us save limbs and save lives. Read our guide to PAD warning signs in the legs and feet.
CarePICS
CarePICS is a photographic mobile and web application that helps treat patients with vascular issues and wounds by documenting changes over time.
Orthobiologic Regenerative Therapies
Through our Regenerative Health & Wellness Center, we offer newer non-surgical procedures with the potential to promote tissue healing, help restore and establish normal function, and improve overall quality of life. Our guide to PRP and regenerative medicine explains how these options fit into a treatment plan.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is an injection of highly concentrated platelets derived from an individual's own blood. The purpose of PRP is to stimulate and support healing in a wide variety of injuries and chronic conditions.
MLS Laser Therapy
This non-invasive technology uses a multi-wave, fully robotic laser to reduce pain and inflammation and to promote soft tissue repair. It is considered one of the most advanced laser therapy systems available.
Bone Marrow Aspirate Therapy (BMAC)
BMAC involves extracting a patient's own bone marrow and injecting it into damaged areas to stimulate healing and repair. Bone marrow is where blood is generated in the body; through aspiration, a sample of the soft liquid tissue inside the bone is obtained. This treatment aims to reduce inflammation and help restore normal joint and tendon function, and it is commonly used for arthritis in the hip, knee, elbow and ankle.
Wharton's Jelly (Umbilical Product)
Wharton's Jelly is a connective tissue found within the umbilical cord. It is largely composed of mesenchymal cells and extracellular matrix components, including collagen, chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid and sulfated proteoglycans. It is used to recruit the body's own cells to an area of injury while supplying growth factors and proteins involved in healing.
Adipose-Derived Stem Cells
This regenerative injection treatment is designed to promote the repair of osteoarthritic cartilage and bone using cells derived from a patient's own fat tissue. The fat is collected from the abdomen or flank, processed, and then injected into the site of injury or pain to stimulate healing of the injured tissue.
Diabetic Foot Care
Because diabetes can cause foot problems through damaged nerves and reduced blood flow, proper foot care is crucial. To protect the health of your feet, we provide the following services:
- Diabetic evaluation (specific to patients with diabetes)
- Patient education and information sources
- Routine nail care and foot inspections
- Therapeutic shoes and custom orthotics
- Wound care
- Surgical care, if needed
For everyday prevention tips, see our daily diabetic foot care checklist.
Wound Care
Wound care is provided each week using the least invasive methods necessary. Our podiatric physicians perform direct, on-site care at The Center for Advanced Wound Healing in our Voorhees, NJ office.
Our goal is to provide appropriate care and treat wounds, especially those that have remained unhealed for a prolonged period, and to avoid very invasive treatment, such as surgery, whenever possible. Learn why early wound care matters for foot ulcers.
Senior Foot Care
Our physicians provide podiatric healthcare services for seniors in our offices. We can also visit patients who temporarily or permanently reside in senior care facilities. For specific information about this service, please contact our corporate office in Voorhees.
Work Injuries
We provide prompt treatment for people who have injured their foot, ankle or lower leg while performing work-related duties. Our goal is to provide quality care so the injured person can return to work as soon as it is safe. Appointments can be scheduled at any office, and second opinions and Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) are available upon request.
Custom Orthotics & In-Skate Orthotics
Orthotics (also known as shoe inserts) can be pre-made or custom-made. Prescription orthotics are custom-made and help a person stand, walk or run better by holding the foot in a corrected position. They provide shock absorption and pressure relief and can ease painful symptoms specific to the individual. Our physicians mold casts of your feet in our offices and send them to a lab to complete the process.
We also offer the specialty service of fabricating in-skate orthotics, designed to optimize the fit, comfort and performance of hockey players, figure skaters and ice skaters while wearing their skates. Compare options in custom orthotics vs. store-bought insoles.
Braces & Supports
When a person has pain, weakness or an injury, a brace or supportive device is sometimes appropriate. Different devices offer varying degrees of support. Our physicians are experienced in complex foot and ankle diagnoses and match an appropriate device to the severity of the problem. We carry braces and supports on-site at our Voorhees location and can direct you where to obtain devices that are not available in the office.
Foot Surgery
Surgical Options for Foot Conditions
- Ankle injuries and instability: repairs are performed using internal braces and tightrope systems.
- Bunions: Lapiplasty®-certified 3D bunion correction is performed to address bunion problems. Learn more about Lapiplasty.
- Hammertoes: hammertoe repair is done using dynamic implants and retrofusion screws.
- Plantar plate injuries: Scorpion devices are used for unstable toes and pain under the joints.
If you are coming to our office for a surgical consultation or a second opinion, please bring all relevant films (X-rays, MRIs and CT scans) and reports to your appointment.
Our podiatric surgeons use Advanced Surgical Institute, an affiliated outpatient facility in Sewell, NJ. On some occasions surgery is performed at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ, primarily for patients already in the hospital or for high-risk cases. Surgery can become necessary for a number of reasons; whatever the cause, your concerns will be met with compassion and expertise at every stage of treatment. Meet our surgeons.
Medical Pedicures
We offer medical pedicures to enhance your foot health. While medical pedicures can be enjoyed by anyone, they are especially recommended for people with diabetes. Instruments are medically sterilized, and files, buffers and gloves are discarded after each use to ensure safety and hygiene. We use Dr.'s REMEDY Enriched Nail Care; all polishes are free of formaldehyde, camphor, toluene and DBP.
Services are performed by Leza A. Davis, Certified Medical Nail Technician, at our Medford location and the Regenerative Health & Wellness Center in Voorhees. Read how a medical pedicure differs from a salon pedicure.

Compounding Medication & Treatment Options
Compounding medication is the process of making personalized, customized medications that suit the needs of each patient based on the doctor's diagnosis. Our physicians can create a prescription formulation that combines appropriate ingredients to best address your symptoms.
These compounded medications are applied to the skin. Delivering creams and solutions topically is intended to reduce the potential for allergic reactions and drug toxicity, and these medications place less stress on the liver, kidneys and digestive tract than many oral medications. Options include:
- Anti-inflammatory blend: may help combat swelling and pain from muscle aches and soft tissue damage.
- Musculoskeletal-arthritic pain: may reduce pain from arthritis and combat inflammation.
- Neuropathic pain: may reduce neuropathic (nerve) pain.
- Scar treatment: intended to reduce discoloration and improve the texture and appearance of new or old scars from cuts, surgery, acne and burns.
- Wellness supplement: a prescription-grade multivitamin aimed at improving overall health.
These compounding formulations are covered by many insurance companies and are shipped directly to your home, often in as little as three to five days.
